Leah Wilson creates paintings focusing on color patterns and changes within landscapes over time.
Born and raised in Southern California, Leah studied painting at the Art Institute of Southern California, moved to Berkeley, then earned her MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute. After graduating, she moved to California's Gold County in the Sierra Nevada foothills to be closer to rivers, her forever muse. There she painted and taught whitewater kayaking. Because of the extensive time she spent on countless rivers in the U.S. and internationally, Leah became invested in learning how environmental engineering affects the landscape and river systems in both positive and negative ways. Eventually, Leah relocated to Oregon where she currently resides.
Leah's paintings have been exhibited at galleries throughout the West Coast including Guardino Gallery in Portland, OR, Downtown Initiative for the Visual Arts in Eugene, Oregon, Julie Baker Fine Art and featured at the Wild and Scenic Environmental Film Festival in Nevada City, California, Los Medanos College Art Gallery in Pittsburg, California and the Oakland Art Gallery in Oakland, California. Her work is in the collections of Adobe Systems, Inc., eBay, Inc., Namco Inc., as well as other corporate and private collections, and her photography has been featured in Common Ground magazine.
